• Use keyboard shortcuts with GarageBand for iPad. If you have an external keyboard connected to your iPad, you can use keyboard shortcuts in Tracks view to play, navigate and edit your GarageBand song.
• I have always dabbled in composing music using GarageBand and other music Apps on my iPad Pro. I wanted a keyboard that didn't have a ton of frills but rather just allowed me to primarily use as a keyboard. I also needed just enough keys so I wasn't cramming in my fingers to play chords and notes. This keyboard is awesome.
• So this is what I did just a few weeks ago on my sisters's iPad 2: you have to open up iTunes on your computer and sing in with your Apple ID. Go to the store, search for GarageBand and 'purchase' it there. Then, on your iPad open AppStore and you'll find GarageBand under purchased apps.

Connect the Keyboard to the iPad using the iRig MIDI.

Open GarageBand, tap the + symbol in the top left and tap New Song.

Select Keyboard.

Tap and choose a keyboard. Hint: there are lots of amazing ones - give them all a try!

Tap + in the right corner to choose the number of bars for your recording.

If you' not sure, go with automatic and GarageBand will add bars as you record.

Tap the red record button and wait until the 4 beat count in plays, then go for it!

In record mode, the bar at the top glows red.

When you complete your the final bar, you automatically enter play mode. Stop playing and press stop.

Connect Guitar To Ipad Garageband

Tap the track view icon (left of stop) to see your recording. You can add new instruments to the piece by clicking the + sign (bottom left) and repeating steps 3 to 9. You can record up to 8 tracks.
